High Resolution Spotting Scope

The high quality Opticron HR series of terrestrial telescopes are designed for the professional and serious fieldscope user, the HR spotting scope models are built to withstand extremes in temperature, to operate unaffected by rain, cold or humidity and as such are designed to be used in all field conditions.

The new HR ED fieldscopes offer a host of improvements over preceding models and have been redesigned without compromise in order to deliver truly exceptional optical performance combined with excellent handling and complete reliability. They have been made to be smaller, lighter and optically superior to previous models, and other manufacturers and offer best prices for very high quality fieldscopes.

The choice of body types, including straight and angled, viewing eyepieces and dedicated accessories for observation and photography are unparalleled and combine to create the most versatile and complete range of fieldscopes Opticron have ever produced.

The reconfigured optical systems deliver the highest resolution of any Opticron telescope and are matched directly to the SDL zoom eyepiece for constant focus across the magnification range; 18-54x (66)/24-72x (80). The HR models feature a high definition 5 element apochromat objective lens system with 2 separate ED elements, BK 7 prisms and unique Opticron N-type multi-coating. This combination maximises resolution and colour contrast especially at higher magnifications under a range of different light conditions.

Mechanically the HR ED feature a new lightweight magnesium body complete with large footprint tripod adapter with +/- 90 degree rotation. Fully nitrogen gas filled waterproof and hermetically sealed against penetration from dust and moisture, the models are protected with a textured and highly durable natural rubber armouring.

Other features include a centrally positioned rubber armoured focusing wheel for optimum accessibility plus a new retractable rubber covered lens hood with integrated rubber objective lens cap.

The HR GD 66EDs are Available as a straight or 45 degree angled scope.
