Rother Valley Optics gives you the EQ3 Pro/EQ5 Pro/HEQ5 Mod. Simply plug the mod into your mount and this will allow you to fully control your mount from your pc!

Please note if you have a HEQ5 SynTrek, this mod will make your mount a fully GOTO system via PC control. You will not get the handset like other upgrades but are saving about £110!

The EQMOD project consists of a suite of open source applications that bypasses the hand-controller and communicates directly with the mount's stepper motor controller, thus enabling direct control from your PC. In order to use this product you must first download and install the latest version of ASCOM platform and then the EQMOD project which is freely available

Connects to the computer using a standard USB cable (user supplied).

You do lose the handset usability, but you gain remote operation from your PC which has a user friendly interface.
