The modular design of the CFL large 2.5" large format refractor focuser makes it very versatile.

We offer everything from our heavy duty tri-knob reduction unit with shaft lock system to different types of motor options for both visual or imaging configurations. Our "High Res" stepper motor options use PC based interfaces, providing automated focus ability running todays ASCOM software. Different draw tube travels and configurations are availible. Our collimatable mounting flanges provide flexibility for achieving perfect mechanical centerline collimation should the need arise. Custom anodized colors and custom flange machining (by request) make for a perfect custom focuser to match your refractor.

MoonLite manufactures many flanges that fit a variety of different refractors, plus we machine custom flanges for any size telescope by request. Please use the pull down menu to select the flange located at the bottom of this page.

All CFL 2.5" large format focuser flanges feature a 2 piece rotating flange design with a lock knob providing camera angle adjustment. It consist of an upper flange part and a lower flange part on a rotatable radial dove tail design. The upper flange part bolts on to the focuser body with 3 bolts and contains the twin dove tail finders. The lower flange part has the threads/ bolt pattern that matches the refractors OTA and connects in to the upper flange. The thickness and diameter of the lower flange is designed for the telescope it is to be installed on. This 2 part rotating flange system provides collimation ability using a simple 3-point push pull bolt/setscrew arraignment. Please note all focusers are factory collimated dead on before we ship them, and do not require any adjustment. The only time collimation should be changed is if the OTA has some kind of defect causing the focuser to set slanted on the tube. In this case the focuser's collimation ability would come in handy to correct the mechanical centerline collimation of the OTA in question. Flanges can be swapped on the bottom of the focuser so it will fit different refractor. Extra CFL Flanges are sold separately for $95.

The AR5 flange fits the Meade AR5, Sky Watcher 5", Antares 1208, 12012, etc. It is a cap style 3 bolt flange to fit 5.125" OD tubes. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The AR6 flange fits the Meade AR6, Sky Watcher 6", Antares 1529, etc. It is a cap style 3-bolt flange to fit 6.175" OD tubes. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The Astro Physics 5" flange fits older AP 5" refractors. It is an 3-bolt ID style to fit 5.845" ID tubes. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The Astro Physics 6" flange fits older AP 6" refractors. It is an 3-bolt ID style to fit 6.840" ID tubes. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The Astro Physics 12StarED flange fits older AP refractors. It is a male 4.868" 24TPI threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

APM / Lunt 152 flange fits both the APM 152 and the Lunt 152 OTAs. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The AT 90/ AT102 / AT111 flange fits early AT refractors. It is a female 3.945" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The AT111 flange fits later AT111 refractors. It is a male 4.716" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The AT 106 flange fits the AT106 refractors and some AT111 OTAs. It is a female 4.418" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The AT 106LE flange fits the AT106 LE "Limited Edition" refractor. It is a female 4.455" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The AT 130/ EON110 flange fits the AT130 refractor and also the EON110 refactor. It is a 3 set screw style at 3.583" The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.25" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The AT 115/130 groove style flange fits both the AT115 and the AT130 refractors. V-groove has a 3.305" OD. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.25" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The Borg 125 flange fits the Borg125 refractor. It is a male 4.356" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

Bresser 152 flange fits the Bresser 152 OTA. It has a special thread on the inside of the flange for transferring the rear lens over to the new focuser. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The Coronado 90 Solar Max original flange fits the original Coronado 90 with out the tuner. It is a male 4.420" by 24TPI threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The Coronado 90 Solar Max II fits the new Coronado 90 with the rear etalon tuner. It is a male 4.420" by 24TPI threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 3" travel size. A free special Lens holder is included with this focuser. See link for configuration info.

The EON / Equinox / Sky Watcher flange fits Orion's EON 80 & 120 APOs, Sky Watcher Equinox 60, 80, 120 APOs, and the Astro Tech 80ED. It is a female 3.274" X 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size

The ES 127ED aluminum OTA early flange fits the original ES127 aluminum scope with the non sliding dew shield. It also fits older AT127, Meade 127ED, M42 optics 127, and other 127s under different names. It is a female 5.085" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The ES 127ED aluminum OTA late flange fits the new Explore Scientific 127 aluminum scope with the sliding dew shield. It is a male 4.960" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The ES 127CF early flange fits the original Explore Scientific 127 carbon fiber OTA ( Non sliding dew shield ). It is a 6 bolt 4.874" flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The ES 127CF late flange fits the new Explore Scientific 127 carbon fiber OTA with the sliding dew shield. It is a 6 bolt 5.578" flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The ES 102CF flange fits the new Explore Scientific 102 carbon fiber OTAs. It is a 6 bolt 4.598" flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The ES 152ED CF flange fits the Explore Scientific 152ED carbon fiber OTA. It is a male 4.286" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.25" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The ESPRIT 80mm flange fits the Esprit 80mm. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.25" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The IOptron Versa ED108 fits the Versa ED108 OTA. it is a female 4.438" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.25" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The Meade APO flange fits the older 4" 5", 6", and 7" Meade APOs made in the 90s. It is a 3 bolt 4.515" flange. The correct drawtube for this scope is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The Meade 130 flange fits the Meade Series 6000 130 APO, 115 APO, SVST105T CF, United Optics 130, and Technosky refractors in Italy. It is a 3 set screw style 4.015" ID flange. The correct drawtube for this scope is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The Megress 80mm II flange fits the new 80mm OTA. The focuser side has a female thread. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel comp ring drawtube.

The Orion 110 ED flange fits the Orion 110 ED OTA. It is a male 4.425" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube for this scope is the 4.5" travel size.

The Orion 110 ED Premium flange fits the Orion 110 ED Premium OTA. It is a male 4.240" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube for this scope is the 4.5" travel size.

The Orion 102/ AT102/Kunming United 102 / WO 98 Carbon Fiber flange fits many 102 refractors. The flange is a male 4.004" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube for this scope is the 4.5" travel size.

The SV70T Stellarvue flange is a Female 3.194" thread. The correct drawtube is the 3" travel size.

The SV Female 103mm X 1mm thread fits the Stellarvue 105T Carbon Fiber OTAs and the 102EDT. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The SV Male 88.5mm X 1mm flange fits the Stellarvue 102T, 115T, SV80T, and the old SV80ED. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The SV80ED/ SV90T/SV110ED flange fits Stellarvue OTAs with the SV F25 2.5" format focusers. It is a 3.176 ID by 1.085" long flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The SV80ST flange fits Stellarvue OTAs with the shorter SV F25 2.5" format focusers. It is a 3.176 ID by .665" long flange. The correct drawtube is the 3" travel size.

The Synta flange is a direct fit for Synta manufactured scopes such as Celestron 6" refractor, Orion's 150mm, 120mm, 100mm, and 80mm refractors, Orion's ED80, ED100, and ED120, Vixen's ED80FS, ED100SF, Sky Watcher Pro Series P80, P100, P120, ED-APOs, all EQ5 series, and Celestron omni series scopes. It is a 3.814" 3-bolt flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The TAL100RS flange fits the TAL 100RS refractor. It is a 3 set screw style with a 4.100" ID. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The TAK 114mm X 1mm flange fits TAK FS102, FS152, TSA102, TSA120, TOA130NS, and other TAK refractors. It is a female 4.462" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The TAK 125mm X 1mm flange fits TAK TSA120, TOA130NF,TOA150 and other TAK refractors using the large focuser. It is a female 4.885" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The TAK FS128 fits the TAK FS128 refractor. It is a female 5.676" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The Tele Vue 2.5" flange fits large Tele Vue refractors that have the 2.5" format focuser such as the NP101is and NP127is. It is a female 3.710" by 24TPI threaded flange. The 3" travel drawtube is required for this OTA. A free 1.25" thick flange extender is included with this focuser and must be used to provide clearance so the drawtube does not contact the rear lens assembly.

The TMB 130 fits the TMB 130 OTA. It is a female 4.650" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 1.75" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

TS 3" focuser flange fits many different refactors with the 3" focuser using a 4.131" V-groove style flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

TS 3.5" focuser flange fits many different refactors with the 3.5" focuser using a 4.563" V-groove style flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The Vixen threaded flange fits all Vixen OTAs that use the standard Vixen thread such as the 103, 114, 115 and many others up to and including the 140NA. The flange is a male 3.452" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The Vixen 3 bolt flange fits the older Vixen 102s and Celestron 102s that use the old 3 bolt mounting system. The flange is a 3-bolt 4.4" flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

The WO 110 Megrez flange fits the WO 110 Megrez / Zenith Star OTAs. It is a female 4.440" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The WO 110 FLT fits the WO 110 Flouro Star OTAs. It is a female 4.490" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The WO 110 TMB/FLT fits the TMB/FLT OTA. It is a female 4.520" by 1.2mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The WO 132 FLT flange fits the large WO 132 FLT OTA. It is a female 5.435" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size. A free 2.5" thick flange extender is included with this focuser.

The WO FLT98 flange fits the FLT98, and Teleskop Photoline 102APO. It is a female 4.087" by 1mm threaded flange. The correct drawtube is the 4.5" travel size.

Custom Flanges -Moonlite can machine a custom flange to fit your OTA. We can machine flanges from 4" to 9" in diameter. Machining normally takes a few weeks. Please contact us for a quote and anticipated turnaround time.

The profile of the CFL focuser depends on the flange installed. The flange thickness is designed to make the CFL focuser mimic the focusers profile it is to replace.

Lifting Capacity: The drawtube pressure can be adjusted to each userís preference. Increasing the pressure increases the load capacity (vertical lifting capacity) of the focuser. Decreasing the pressure lowers the load capacity but gives the focuser a smoother focusing action. We set the focuser at approximately 6 lbs. at time of assembly; however, you can adjust it to be less or more depending on your specific needs. The ideal setting is to have it adjusted so the focuser can hold the heaviest load presented without slipping and requiring no additional force. This will give the focuser the best feel and still provide the vertical lifting capacity required.
To adjust - turn the aluminum thumbscrew located between the two setscrews on the bottom of the focuser CW to increase load capacity. The aluminum thumbscrew can only add pressure, not take away pressure. This is due to the 2 setscrews on each side of the thumbscrew applying a minimum set pressure amount. In some rare cases, it may be necessary to do a coarse adjustment by turning the 2 setscrews located on each side of the aluminum thumbscrew (1/8 allen wrench) a very small amount. Normally, 1/20 of a turn or less should be made on the setscrews in a CW direction, then check the lifting capacity pressure by racking the drawtube up and down.

Collimation: CFL focusers have 2 collimation systems. The traditional upper to lower flange tip/ tilt collimation system using 4 small set screws, and also the new C-axis collimation at the bearing locations for drawtube collimation. To adjust flange collimation, turn the 4 mini setscrews located in the top part of the 2-part flange. A small amount of tip/tilt (.015 max) can be made between the flanges by adjusting the setscrews. We collimate the C-axis drawtube's center line before shipping it so no adjustment should be required. See video on how the new C-axis collimation is performed as it can be changed by the user if needed.
